 The product design & development process is made up of four interdependent phases. This means that the actions taken in each of the phases will directly impact the next stage of the process. 
 If an unforeseen sample is needed prior to entering production, the production timeline will be pushed. Although sampling and production are different phases, the ability to enter the production phase will be impacted by this decision.

Our Phases


The timeline for the design and development process from initial meeting to product delivery ranges from 20-24 weeks. This range varies depending on a variety of factors, including level of difficulty, quantity of samples needed, production and shipping timelines, etc... Once the clients needs are properly identified, the team at MF9 will develop a timeline that will outline a reasonable delivery window.


Discovery & Ideation

Objective 
Identify the product design needs that need to be met and develop a strategy to execute on an agreed upon timeline


Phase 13 Weeks         The ideation phase begins with a meeting between MF9 and you—the client. We work together to come up with a solution to address whatever product-related inquiry a client brings to the table. After a plan has been agreed upon, the product designers will begin to collect a series of references and work on initial design direction.


Sourcing & Technical Design
Objective
Locate the proper materials and manufacturing methods while working towards the initial design direction

 Phase 2 3 Weeks                                   The product development begins in the sourcing stage. Our team of developers selects the appropriate production partner given the specific criteria given to us by the client. The product designers begin working on an initial round of solution addressing said inquiry.
