Senior Designer


Applicants must be based in USA & willing to work out of our Orem Office.

Responsibilities + Key Requirements

A Senior Designer is first a leader. They set the tone for the studio and are uniquely positioned as both maker and mentor. They are involved in high level strategy and ideation, but also are regularly executing design work. The Senior Designer will concept and create visual design solutions to a large variety of problems ranging from graphic design and brand systems to the conceptual and unexpected. At MF9 we believe in teams and collaboration. The ability to collaborate with other creatives partners and non-creative team members in the development of ideas is fundamental to the role. Bringing a strong creative point of view is expected, but knowing when to listen and collaborate is key. The Senior Designer will help make the team better and stronger through, mentorship, approach, methodology, work, and craft.

Established strong knowledge of skills including graphic design, identity design, branding systems, typography, storytelling, and photography are needed. Ability to work or think in motion and 3D is also necessary.

  • 3–5 years of design experience in-house or at a small studio with a growing ability to develop innovative creative work across a broad range of media. Must have a working knowledge of graphic design, branding, photography, and art direction as it pertains to print, digital, and motion.
  • You are naturally curious and passionate about design — with a keen awareness of the evolving landscape of available tools, technologies, resources, and trends.
  • You have outstanding conceptual and problem-solving skills.
  • Provides a design point of view and communicates it to creative team; creates multiple design solutions for a given brief.
  • Works closely with Creative Director and Art Directors to bring visual concepts to life.
  • Works closely with Design Project manager to stay on schedule and within budget parameters.
  • Designs and executes branding, advertising campaigns, collateral, presentations, logos, asset kits/style guides, and other deliverables as requested with the highest level of creativity and respect for the client’s or project’s needs, schedule, and budget.
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of our clients’ brands.
  • Organizes and archives files on studio server per studio guidelines in collaboration with Design Project Manager.
  • Prioritizes workflow effectively.
  • When needed should be able to be independent and self governing to see projects through.

Qualifications



  • Advanced knowledge/experience with Adobe Creative Suite, G-Suite, Keynote.
  • Knowledge of front-end coding, Motion Design, AfterEffects and 3D is always a plus.
  • Uses various techniques including image searching and scanning, digital photography, and image manipulation.
  • Ability to use experience, resources, and interact and collaborate with other departments within the studio to
    solve problems.
  • A demonstrated track record of gaining trust and respect by consistently demonstrating sound creative, strategic, and analytical thinking skills, while maintaining composure in stressful situations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, multi-tasking, initiative and follow through skills.
  • Effectively communicates and works well in a team environment.
